Some of our Globally Engaged in Outreach (GEO) Missionaries recently helped The Reporter with a story about the need for new English as a Foreign Language teachers in the mission field. Sarah Berta-Somogyi, serving in Győr, Hungary; Melissa Karges, serving in Sopron, Hungary; and A. J. Davis, serving in Kosice, Slovakia were all interviewed by The Reporter for the story. Rev. Matthew Harrison has also sent out a letter to all the pastors of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) asking them to include a special bulletin insert to raise awareness of these opportunities. Opportunities for service include Poland in the Eurasia Region. Read more about the need for EFL teachers here: “Short Term Missionaries Needed to Teach English.”

  • If you are interested in serving, contact Erin Alter at erin.alter@lcms.org.
  • To use the bulletin insert, click here.
  • Pray for those currently serving as missionaries, and pray that the Lord would raise up more workers for the harvest!
