On 25 August 2016, Rev. Yaroslav Boychenko led a meeting, the first in a series, devoted to the spiritual music of Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971). Rev. Boychenko and his group discussed the various aspects of the musical genius of Stravinsky and deliberated on the religious motifs in his music. Pastor Yaroslav played back the records of several pieces by Stravinsky. For many of the participants it was the first time they heard the composer’s music.

The congregation at Nizhny Novgorod makes frequent use of sacred music concerts and recitals in order to engage the surrounding community and share the Gospel with them. This frequently draws unchurched people who become interested in the Lutheran faith.
