Palanga Evangelical Lutheran Parish hosted two conferences in their diaconate center during October 11-14.

Pastor Darius Petkunas welcomed the pastors of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lithuania to their fall seminar on Wednesday and Thursday of that week. Dr. Charles Cortright presented topics regarding the theology of Martin Luther and the body. His topic explained what Luther stated about creation in his Genesis lectures, marriage and children, mortality, and resurrection.

On Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Charles Evanson also gave a lecture via Skype on the definition of the Roman Catholic doctrines defined in the Council of Trent. Evanson described how these differ from Lutheran theology.

During Friday and Saturday, the musicians of the church body met in Palanga for the Lectures on Hymnology to Church Musicians. Dr. Cortright spoke on the words used in worship. Pastor James Krikava explained the marriage of text and tone in Lutheran worship. He emphasized how music should be used to adorn the Word of God in worship.
