Installation of Rev. Charles Cortright to the Eurasia Region

by Connie Cortright

Rev. Dr. Charles Cortright was installed on Ascension Day, May 25, 2017 as missionary to the Eurasia Region. Rev. Dr. John Fale, Executive Director of the LCMS Office of International Missions, officiated and Rev. Dr. Kevin Robson, Chief Mission Officer of the LCMS, preached.

The installation took place during the closing service of the Reformation Jubilee Theological Conference, hosted by Luther Academy and the LCMS Eurasia region. The conference was held at the 500 year-old monastery of the Chemin Neuf Community in Tuchomerice, near Prague. The historic chapel served as the venue for the installation service.

Pastor Cortright is currently serving as interim pastor of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, the English speaking congregation in Prague. He will also be the chaplain for the LCMS missionaries in the  Eurasia region.  As time permits, he will also mentor pastors in the region.

Charles and his wife Connie arrived in Prague on May 17 and will be living there for the foreseeable future. Connie hopes to volunteer her help in the region wherever she can. They are thrilled to join colleagues in the region and look forward to meeting them.
