Baptism in Prague

The family is pictured with the baptized infant.

Rev. Tony Booker, an LCMS pastor serving in Prague, Czech Republic, performed a very special baptism last month. It was the first baptism for him in his call to Prague and his first baptism as a pastor.

Rev. Booker worked closely with the parents, teaching them about the baptismal ceremony and explaining the work of the Holy Spirit within it. The parents, who are from Finland and Ukraine, learned from Rev. Booker that baptism is the beginning of a life in Christ. Rev. Booker says, “What a joy to be able to teach about this freely-given gift from God by which he brings us to Himself and makes us His.”

In Central Asia, over the Easter holiday, new believers were also received this gift through the first baptisms performed there.
