October 3: Cookout / Bible Study with Students: GEO Missionary Sarah Berta-Somogyi will sponsor a cookout and Bible study for students (middle school and high school-aged) in Győr, Hungary, where she serves. Special events like this one allow Christian students to be strengthened and encouraged, as well as invite friends who may not be Christians or are nominal Christians to a fun event with a Gospel proclamation.
  • Pray for a safe and fun cookout.
  • Pray for students to be strengthened and others to hear the Gospel.
  • Pray that the fun event will bring more to the regular Bible study Sarah leads for students.

October 15: New Adult English-Language Bible Study in Győr, Hungary: Globally Engaged in Outreach (GEO) Missionary Sarah Berta-Somogyi will launch a new adult English-language Bible study in Győr. The desire for this study grew out of the English-language Lutheran worship services that have recently begun in Győr. In offering the services, it has become clear that there are adults who would also benefit from a time to meet together and encourage one another while studying the Word of God.
  • Please pray for the new study to strengthen and encourage Christians, as well as proclaim the Gospel to others.
  • Pray for Sarah to be strengthened as they run the group.
  • Learn more about the English-language Lutheran worship services.
  • Learn more about Sarah and consider supporting her.
October 18, Győr English-Language Worship Service: The next English-language Lutheran worship service will be held in Győr, Hungary. Pastor Rex Rinne, OIM Pastoral Care Facilitator for Eurasia, travels to Győr to commune LCMS personnel and then hold a Service of the Word for English-speaking expatriates and interested native Hungarians from in and around Győr. The service has proclaimed the Gospel to many different people, and new people come every time.
