On November 6 and December 19, 2012, Rev. Yaroslav Boychenko, pastor of an ELCIR congregation in Nizhny Novgorod, presented lectures for more than 40 students at the Department of International Relations at Nizhny Novgorod State University. His lectures were titled “On the Chief Aspects of the Evangelical Lutheran Faith and On the Evangelical Lutheran Church.” Rev. Boychenko shared about the Gospel and his personal faith in Jesus. After his presentation, the students asked him questions about the Church and the Christian faith.
On December 22, 2012, Rev. Boychenko gave a presentation titled “Christmas Songs and Hymns. Traditions and Their Continuation”. He shared with church members as well as non-Lutheran visitors about the history of some of the famous Christmas hymns and their various interpretations (improvisations, jazz and others) and played CD’s with some of them.
