A number of Sarah Berta-Somogyi’s students also attended the English Bible camps led by Concordia University, Irvine, Calif. *GEO missionaries are globally-engaged in outreach for 1- to 2-year terms.
Melissa Karges and Sarah Berta-Somogyi, GEO missionaries in Hungary, recently organized a game night. They invited students who attend Péterfy Sándor Lutheran Educational Centre in Győr, Hungary, where Sarah teaches English, as well as students who had attended English Bible camp last summer. It was a fantastic night fun of fun, laughter, board and card games, and delicious sweets. It was a chance to reconnect with campers, meet with students outside of class and have fellowship together.
(Every two years, a group from Concordia University, Irvine, Calif., with the LCMS, organizes and runs an English Bible camp for junior high and high school students.)

Although the night was organized to be just a great night of fun and fellowship, some conversations led to the students talking about their faith. Melissa talked to seventh grade students who were camp attendees, and they shared how the camp had a huge impact on their lives and showed them how real Jesus and faith can be. They are excited and looking forward to the next camp, which will be in summer 2014.
A male 12th-grade student shared that he would like to study theology in the future and perhaps become a Lutheran pastor. He came to know Jesus later in his life and still has a lot of questions. Melissa was able to unpack some of these questions with him, especially those relating to life after death, and find what the Bible says.

Towards the end of the night, two boys joined the conversation about Heaven and Hell and what happens when we die. After some thought, the boys beautifully shared with Melissa and Sarah that their faith is in Jesus as their Savior and their belief that they will spend eternity with Him because of this faith.
