Deacon Vyacheslav Shadrin shares about the recent youth outreach and ministry that has happened in Minusinsk, which is located in southern Siberia, Russia. Deacon Shadrin is a part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ingria in Russia, an LCMS partner church.
The theological education efforts in Eurasia help train an average of 250 full time students and hundreds of other students in collaboration with seven seminaries in the region, including in England, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan and Latvia.
During the winter and spring of 2013, the ELCIR congregation in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia hosted five outreach concerts of sacred and secular music from the 17th through the 20th century. Rev. Yaroslav Boychenko reached out to a group of high school students, telling them about noted Lutherans from Nizhny Novgorod’s history and sharing the Christian faith.
