The LCMS and our German sister church, the Independent Evangelical – Lutheran Church, have started English-language worship services in Berlin, a city which holds about 25,000 native English speakers.
For 12 years, Compassion has been running a “mobile medical trailer” throughout the country. The trailer, which received funding from LCMS World Relief and Human Care for the past year, saw almost 4,000 people in the last 4 months of 2011.
Until recently, a completed Kazakh translation of the Bible hasn’t been available. The church and its local partners have been working hard to facilitate the first large-scale distribution of the Kazakh Bible among the unreached Kazakhs of Mongolia. More than 2,000 Bibles in the Kazakh language are already being distributed to Kazakhs in Mongolia!
We celebrate the installation of the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Mumme and his wife, Deaconess Rachel Mumme, in their new positions at Westfield House and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Cambridge, England.
